Notes from the edge of the web

About these notes

Why We Track the Frontier

Because the most interesting changes in technology are visible early, if you know where to look and are willing to test rather than repeat.

An almanac, not a news feed

Lookoutrakivaro began as a shared notebook kept by a few people who were tired of two kinds of technology writing: breathless launch coverage on one side and reflexive cynicism on the other. We wanted something closer to a naturalist's field notes, patient observation of what is actually growing at the edges of the web.

So we organise our work into dispatches: inventive websites, AI tools, web standards and future interfaces. Each is revisited and revised as the frontier moves.

Standards

How we work

Hands on

We test first

We use the site or tool ourselves before writing about it. If we could not try something, we say it is announced, not available.

Sources

We link to primary evidence

Specifications, release notes, research papers and official documentation come before commentary, so you can check us.

Independence

We take no money for coverage

No sponsored posts, affiliate links or gifted hardware. We are not affiliated with any company or product we mention.

Corrections

We fix mistakes openly

Errors are corrected promptly and noted on the page. Tell us at [email protected] if you spot one.

Who we write for

Our readers are early adopters in the best sense: designers, developers, researchers, teachers and simply curious people who like to try things before everyone else, but who also want to know whether those things are worth the effort. We assume intelligence, not expertise, and we explain jargon when we use it.

Lookoutrakivaro is published by Lookoutrakivaro Media Ltd, a small independent company registered in England and Wales.
